He is, y'all! He's just so very happy all of the time.
He makes us all smile with this Pillsbury dough boy laugh and the way he mimics Elle's crazy squeaks.
I also promptly told my friend (so as not to jinx myself I think) that this may not be my adjective for Beckham forever. I do realize that right now we're in the "baby sweet spot." He's not mobile, he's not teething, but he IS sleeping through the night! Win. Win. Win.
I really do feel like he's our laid back boy, though. He's so content to let Elle teach him at "school." (Every morning we practice her words and colors and then Elle eagerly teaches her brother everything she's learned.)
I could go on and on about how much fun we've been having this past month; but because one baby is eating and one is seconds away from waking from a nap, I'm just going to give you the highlights of the things we've loved lately:
-Elle's words are taking off! There are new ones every single day.
-We have lots of family dance parties (mostly Elle requests them and then Beckham joins in. He gets the biggest smile on his face when his sister grabs his hand to dance.)
-Elle only requests "shake it off." We aren't permitted to dance to anything else at the moment.
-Beckham's face when I wake him after each nap and every morning: oh it's just the best. Like he forgot I existed and then he remembers all over again when he opens his eyes. I want to freeze this in my mind so badly.
-Elle asks so politely for "privacy" when she's reading to Beckham in the mornings. She likes to do it all by herself.
-Elle is as animated as they come. We had dinner guests a few nights ago and she had us all rolling! She entertains, she dances, she giggles - this one is a performer for sure!
-Beckham squeaks so happily when you put him to bed at night. It's as if he can finally get some peace and quiet :)
-Elle can make her brother laugh like no one else can. The other night we were working at the house and she made a game of jumping off of a gravel pile. Beckham couldn't get enough - he chuckled and chuckled.
-We take regular trips to the house and Elle is our little explorer. She has no fear (which scares a mama to death at this point in the renovation process. But don't worry, Dad, I keep her very close!)
-Elle's favorite song to sing with us is "down by the bay" she giggles at every rhyme she makes (or attempts to make)
-Grandparents: they love us and our littles SO WELL! Michael and I constantly talk about how spoiled we are to have them all so close. They each have such a unique relationship with E&B- it's so fun to watch that unfold.
(Swinging with Papa - the sweetest view)
-Playdates: we couldn't live without them. The other day when I was looking at our full schedule for the week, it struck me how blessed I am to have so many wonderful friends to walk through motherhood with. I learn so much from each of these sweet women. And miss social butterfly loves to see all of her tiny people:
(This is Peter. Elle asks for him constantly)
-Some of my favorite memories this month are when Michael is working late at the house and Elle and I snuggle in mama's bed. It's like the Ritz to her. She gets the biggest smile on her face and says "sit, sit, sit" As if to say: "Let's stay here a while."
-Speaking of Michael, he continues to amaze me with his abilities to literally do it all! He's worked tirelessly on our home, kept up a busy work schedule, and somehow managed to be "super dad" all at the same time. I can't wait to tell Elle and Beckham how their Daddy built their home with so much love.

(A lot can happen in a week when Michael is in charge!)
I could tear up writing this. God is so good. He's blessed us with more than we could ever deserve. Not one bit of it have I earned; but I am so very grateful.
I pray every day that Michael and I will be good stewards of these sweet blessings He's entrusted us with.
Love to you all from the Knotts Crew!
